Alternatives to High Stakes Assessments

Facilitator: Angela Xia, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Religious Studies

The quiz. The exam. The research paper. Are these the only ways to evaluate students’ learning? In this workshop, we will consider alternatives to classic high stakes assessments. In addition to discussing examples of these alternatives, we will also reflect on the broader issues they raise, such as equity, accessibility, and how and why we grade.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
