Course Development Program (Day 1 of 3)

Facilitator: Cathy Turner, Senior Associate Director, CETLI
Convener: CETLI Staff

Creating a new class? Revamping an existing class? Interested in working with fellow faculty as you plan for your fall teaching?

In preparation for the fall semester, the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning & Innovation is offering a Course Development Institute. At this 3-day event, instructors will participate in a series of interactive sessions designed to help participants begin drafting a syllabus. With colleagues across Penn, and with guidance from CETLI and Penn instructional support staff, instructors will work to design courses that push students to think rigorously, that make sure they learn, and that welcome them into the field. Through the program, participants will define their goals for their students and build on those to plan assignments and consider ways to use class time.
