Critical and Compassionate: Teaching and Learning About Sound

Facilitator: Elizabeth Bynum, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Music
Convener: Professor Carol Muller, Music

How do we create a classroom environment that allows students to critically engage with the material they are reading and hearing as part of our classes? How do we design assignments (creative projects, research papers, exams, etc.) that help students to engage with sound/music as critical and compassionate listeners?

All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Music department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
