Preparing a new course and not sure where to begin? Revising an old course and looking for some fresh ideas? The Center for Teaching and Learning is hosting an intensive three-day workshop on in-person course development. In these sessions, we invite you to work collaboratively with fellow Penn instructors and CTL staff to build a course that maximizes student learning and engagement. On Day 1 we will consider evidence-based practices in course design as you draft learning outcomes for your students and begin your syllabus. On Day 2 we will consider assignments, grading and feedback as you continue to build your course schedule. On Day 3 we will brainstorm in-class lecture topics, discussions and group activities that will help you and your students make the most of your time together in class. Each session will consist of opportunities for formal and informal discussion, quiet work time, and of course free coffee, tea and lunch!
This is a three day event that will run May 23-25, 2023 from 10:00 – 2:00 PM. Registration for this program has closed.
