Designed, Revealed, Delivered: Secrets to Effective Lecturing

Facilitator: Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Comparative Literature
Convener: Professor Liliane Weissberg, German & Comparative Literature

From design to delivery, how can we make lectures dynamic, engaging, and interactive? In an age of distraction, how can an unforgettable lecture keep students focused and invested in the subject matter? In this workshop, we will discuss tools and strategies for employing the lecture form for various audiences, from a small recitation to a large auditorium. You should leave the workshop with some practical applications you can use to plan and deliver your next lecture or even conference presentation.

All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Comparative Literature department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
