Finding ways to encourage student curiosity

Facilitator: Alain Plante, Earth and Environmental Studies & J.C Cloutier, English

Curiosity fuels learning and encourages the type of imaginative exploration that faculty hope students will be able to engage in long after class is over. Faculty often worry, however, that students approach their classes as boxes to check off. In this conversation, Professors Alain Plante from Earth and Environmental Science and JC Cloutier from English will discuss how they cultivate curiosity in their students and encourage students to use materials from their fields to generate their own questions and ideas.
