CTL is holding an informal discussion on syllabuses to help graduate students preparing to teach this semester as well as graduate students drafting syllabuses for the job market. This workshop will focus on how to articulate what students will get out of your course and course organization and expectations, while at the same time providing a sense of how an undergraduate or non-specialist will read your syllabus. CTL will provide a structure for reading and responding to each other’s work as well as thoughts about what your syllabus might contain.
Those who want to participate should send a hard copy of their syllabus to Cathy Turner at caturner@upenn.edu by noon on August 15.
