Incorporating Active Learning into STEM Courses
Convener: Laura Thierer, CTL SAIL Fellow, Chemistry
Research shows that active learning improves student understanding, where even short and occasional interactions can have a meaningful effect. It is possible to incorporate active learning methods on many scales and in many classroom environments. Come and learn some basic techniques you can use to create anything from brief in-class exchanges to longer, structured group activiites for your class, recitation or lab.
Counts toward the CTL Teaching Certificate. Also counts as a follow-up workshop for SAS participants in TA Training.
