As graduate students in STEM, we often teach and mentor undergraduate students in both the classroom and the research lab. Mentoring and teaching undergraduate students can be very rewarding, not least because you are helping train the next generation of scientists, mathematicians, or engineers. However, it can also be a challenging task, especially when you’re faced with the following questions: How much independence should I give my undergraduate mentee in the classroom and/or lab? How can I help my undergraduate mentee achieve their academic and professional goals? What is the best way to train and guide my undergraduate mentee? How do I provide constructive feedback to my undergraduate mentee? In this workshop, we will answer these questions and develop strategies for the successful mentoring of undergraduates.
Please register in case circumstances necessitate moving the workshop to Zoom.
