Students’ Identities in the Classroom

Convener: Didem Uca, CTL Graduate Fellow, Germanic Languages & Literatures

Getting to know your students is a key component in creating an inclusive classroom environment and can positively impact learning outcomes. This may include learning about your students’ interests and goals, having students speak from experience, and helping students work through challenging material. In this workshop, we will discuss techniques you can use to become more familiar with various aspects of your students’ identities and encourage students to bring their whole selves to class.

Counts toward the CTL Teaching Certificate. Also counts as a follow-up workshop for SAS participants in TA Training.

Part of the CTL TA Training Follow-up Series
