The goal in graduate school (and beyond) should be to “work hard, not long” but for many students “work long, not hard” is probably a more accurate description of their day-to-day lives. The goal of this CTL session–which will blend logistical and emotional advice that is 100% practical–is to get students working harder but more efficiently. In addition to discussing timelines for publishing, how to create a research pipeline, and tips and tricks for carving out research time in a busy schedule, we will also discuss how to use mindfulness techniques to help you stay focused and get that writing done. [BR]All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Political Science department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.
