Teaching About Inequality

Facilitator: Sherelle Ferguson, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Sociology
Convener: Professor Regina Baker, Sociology

In sociology, teaching students about the causes and consequences of stratification is one of our most important endeavors. How do we engage students in the study of inequality? In this workshop we will discuss activities that help students learn about and reflect on their understanding of economic inequality. We will also troubleshoot some common student reactions to learning about inequality.

All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Sociology department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
