Teaching Non-Majors

Facilitator: Paul He, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Computer & Information Science

For many classes, the primary audience is not students who major in your field, but students who are studying other subjects. Non-majors often have different motivations and different backgrounds than majors and teaching them requires some extra care. As an expert in your field, it can be difficult to remember what it was like as a newcomer. This workshop will discuss techniques and strategies for teaching non-majors effectively, as well as how you can benefit from this experience.

Counts towards the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
