Teaching Research Methods to Undergraduates
Facilitator: Alexis Rider, CTL Graduate Fellow, History & Sociology of Science
Convener: Dr. Meggie Crnic, History & Sociology of Science
Research is a major component of thinking and writing critically, and is a skill that undergraduates are only just beginning to develop. In this workshop, Dr. Meggie Crnic, who teaches the Capstone seminar, will discuss how she helps students construct a senior thesis. The aim of this seminar is to show TAs the skills that students are still developing even in their senior year at Penn, and to enable TAs to begin sowing the seeds of robust research skills in students before they reach the Capstone class.
All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the History & Sociology of Science department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.
Counts toward the CTL Teaching Certificate.
