Teaching Students to Think in Your Discipline

Convener: Joseph Hoisington, CETLI Graduate Fellow Mathematics

What are the essential questions that students, teachers and researchers in your field are (or should be) interested in? How can they answer them? What counts as evidence? What counts as proof? What are the goals of your field? How can students understand them? How can they contribute to them?
In this workshop, we will talk about how, in our teaching, we can help our students understand the questions, goals and methodologies of our fields.
Counts towards the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
