Teaching Students with Varied Experience and Education
Facilitator: Anessa Foxwell, Nursing
Convener: Stacey Bevan, CTL Graduate Fellow, Nursing
Students will come to the first day of class with a diversity of previous experiences and perspectives. This is especially the case for courses that enroll both graduate and undergraduate students. In this workshop, we will overview syllabus designs for courses with mixed student profiles, identify unique learning needs of students based on their professional and educational experience and discuss how to create and give constructive feedback on assignments. Concepts are generally applicable and examples will focus on clinical courses.
All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the School of Nursing and so may be most useful to students in related fields.Counts toward the CTL Teaching Certificate.
