The Metamorphosis of A Course: “Translating Cultures: Literature In and On Translation”

Facilitator: Erika Kontulainen, CETLI Graduate Fellow, German
Convener: Professor Kathryn Hellerstein, German

Kathryn Hellerstein will talk about how this signature course has developed in a variety of contexts over the years. Workshop participants will discuss Hellerstein’s syllabus and examples of assignments and brainstorm about how they could design their own courses on teaching translation. All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the German department and so may be most useful to students in related fields. Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.

A light lunch will be served.
