Working Effectively As Part Of A Teaching Team

Convener: Alexis Crockett, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Neuroscience

When you think of academic teamwork, what comes to mind? Likely research collaborations or group projects but probably not teaching. Yet, being a teaching assistant also requires teamwork, whether that be coordinating with the professor(s) or collaborating with your fellow TAs in a large course. This workshop will cover aspects of how to teach with a team, including: navigating relationships with peers and professors; collaborating to accomplish larger goals; and maintaining consistency across team members’ teaching and grading. Participants will discuss the various aspects of team teaching that they expect to encounter in their course, discuss any difficulties that may arise during the semester, and look ahead to how they can utilize team teaching to their advantage in future stages of their career.

TA Training Follow Up Workshop (for new TAs in SAS). All graduate students are welcome.
Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
