Working Effectively as Part of a Teaching Team

Convener: Anna Todd, CETLI Graduate Fellow, History

Teaching is often thought of as an individual activity, yet teaching in higher education regularly requires working efficiently and effectively as part of a team. Graduate students often find themselves paired in teaching teams as part of their assistantship responsibilities and must navigate working relationships with peers as well as professors. This workshop will address problems that may arise during team teaching and help TA’s develop the interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills to ensure success. Participants will also brainstorm about the relationship of the professor of record to the teaching team and look ahead to the possibilities of team teaching in further stages of the profession.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate. Also counts as a follow-up workshop for SAS participants in TA Training.

Part of the CETLI TA Training Follow-up Series
